My mom’s cooking has evolved over the years. She recently made Char Siu Baos (steamed BBQ pork buns) and I was so impressed! It was only her first time and it came out pretty darn good. The bread was soft and fluffy; the BBQ pork was sweet and delicate. My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough meat on the inside >.<. All in all, this was delicious and was so proud of her for trying something new. It is quite inspirational, actually. We usually buy Char Siu Baos that are prepackaged at the markets. Other times, we would have it during Dim Sum (Chinese Breakfast/brunch) at restaurants. So for my mom to make it for the first time during my 28 something years, it says something.
Her cooking always speaks volumes to me and it’s something that I do not take for granted. As much as I love eating at restaurants, her food will always have a special place in my heart and tummy.
