This one is for you.
I’m feeling extremely grateful and humble to see 500 followers. I’m quite stoked, actually. What a great way to begin a new year!
Four months ago, I created The Static Food Bin out on a whim. Literally, I put my “Woof and Sheep Club” blog on a long hiatus without warning because a sudden inspiration enchanted me. I didn’t question or doubt this inspiration because well, it was compelling and I knew I had to do something with it before it’s gone.
I must admit that Yelp was what gave birth to this inspiration. One day, I decided that I was going to do whatever it takes to become a Yelp Elite. (I have a friend who’s a Yelp Elite and she would attend cool events with free food, activities, gifts + meet other foodies.) It sounded awesome, so I checked in at every place I visited – the grocery stores, eateries, bars, auto repair shops; I mean everything. I also took many pictures and wrote reviews like my life depended on it.
In amidst of Yelping, I realized that I was having so much fun writing reviews and taking photos. SO I thought to myself, “my writing and pictures can be MORE than just Yelp reviews. It could be a blog, I mean, why not?” It made sense. Little did I know that I would be creating something that I am most proud of. The Static Food Bin has become something that brings me joy; it gives me something to look forward to after I’m off my full-time job; it pushes me out of my comfort zone; and it encourages me to work hard. This blog/Instagram has brought me so much fulfillment because I am doing more than just existing in this world; I am creating, learning, and being who I am while I’m at it.
So I want to say THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU to all 500+ of you! Thank you for being here, reading my words, communicating with me, enlightening me, making me smile, absorbing my colors, and letting my work be purposeful. Big, big, big hugs!!!
Now that I got that out of my chest…. Here is a question for you: What do you like about my blog? What do you dislike? What do you want to see more of? Let me know. ❤
PS. If you’re wondering, I am a Yelp Elite 🙂
